What are you reaching for today?

My usual prayer space is in the back of the house, facing west. It receives glorious afternoon sun. The lightness of the filtered sunlight in that space often brings me rest and healing when I take time to pause in the midst of full days.

But this morning, I caught a glimpse of the morning sunlight stretching across the snow covered garden, and I knew I needed to pray in its rising light.

So I’ve been praying today at the front of the house, with the morning sun and this spectacular —and tentacular! — aloe plant.

Look at the arms of this plant ~

  • They are robust and filled with healing goodness.

  • Their edges are pokey and communicate a warning of caution, despite the healing properties of their innards.

  • They are twisting and searching — growing around obstacles and reaching through openings.

  • There are arms whose furthest points are diminishing, old, and blocked from nourishment: the arms pinched under their own weight against the very container meant to hold them.

  • There are arms of new growth, fresh, translucent, and just barely emerging from the core.

But all of them.

Each of these tentacular arms are reaching.

Reaching.

Reaching for something.

What are you reaching for today?

  • What is your sunlight, that which draws you forward?

  • What are your obstacles? Are you finding your way around them or through them?

  • Are you well-connected to your Source of nourishment?

  • Are you offering your healing to the world? Where do you feel pokey or guarded?

  • Are you feeling the energy of new growth? What excites you?

We’re all reaching for something. What are you reaching for today?

It’s a gift to be able to walk alongside you as you reach towards that which is calling you.

Please let me know when you’d like to set up a free consultation.

Very gratefully yours,
